GMercyU MSOT Partnership with West Chester UniversityMSOT

Gwynedd Mercy University's Master of Science in Occupational Therapy program has partnered with West Chester University to offer WCU undergraduate students a pathway to GMercyU's accredited, two-year MSOT program.

GMercyU will guarantee 3 slots in its MSOT program for WCU students who earn a baccalaureate degree and meet the application deadline of February 1 of the desired year of enrollment. Additional slots may be available depending on the overall applicant pool and will be communicated to WCU.

WCU students interested in this opportunity must:

  • Complete this application through GMercyU admissions by February 1
  • Meet all program admission requirements
  • Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for admission
  • Achieve a combined GPA of 3.1 or higher in all identified prerequisite courses
  • Include documentation of a minimum of 20 hours of observation experience with a registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
  • Include three letters of reference that are submitted directly to the GMercyU admissions portal by the person writing the letter. One of these letters must be from a registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
  • Complete application questions highlighting their uniqueness and how these qualities may translate to their future success as an occupational therapist.

WCU students that meet the above application deadlines and admissions requirements will be guaranteed an interview with the admissions committee. Successful completion of an interview is required for admission to GMercyU.

Partnership Perks

checkmarkblack.jpg Applying directly through GMercyU Admissions means you don't have to apply via OTCAS as required by other OT applicants. This saves you OTCAS' current application fee of $164.

I chose GMercyU because it was really clear how passionate the professors were for the OT profession and wanted to see their students succeed. I came to GMercyU from West Chester University, which is a bigger school, and I really liked how GMercyU kept their cohorts smaller, which allows for more time for one-on-one training with your professors.
