Fewer than 45 Transfer Credits
Transfer students with fewer than 45 transferable college credits may apply to transfer in the fall or spring semester. (Have 45 or more? Click here!)
To be admitted to the Nursing program, we are looking for a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 with C+ or higher grades in your math and science courses (including Nutrition). Students who do not meet this requirement may be admitted to our Health Studies program.
Sophomore Start (32 or more credits)
To stay on track to graduate in three years, transfer students entering as sophomores should have completed Anatomy and Physiology I and II with a grade of C+ or higher. Science courses must have been completed within the last seven years, and include a lab component. Virtual labs are accepted for A & P I and II. Chemistry and Microbiology labs must be completed in person or online with an at-home kit.
Important dates for sophomores who want to start in the fall semester:
- July 1, 2025: Last day to apply
- July 7, 2025: Last day to submit application admission materials
- July 15, 2025: Last day to submit acceptance deposit (non-refundable)
- August 1, 2025: Due date for completion of clearance compliances
More than 45 Transfer Credits
Transfer students with 45 or more transferable credits, including specific coursework completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, may enroll in the fall semester or take advantage of our Junior Year Fast-Track Transfer Summer Start Program.
Students accepted to this program will complete 14 credits over the summer at a discount tuition rate. Once you have successfully passed all summer courses with a C+ (78%) or higher , you will be able to complete your nursing degree in 2 years.
Students should notify their transfer counselor that they are interested in being evaluated for this Fast Track option. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis between September and mid-April and students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and a C+ or higher in math and science courses will receive priority consideration.

Please note: Students enrolling in our Nursing program must have the ability to obtain a U.S. background check and other clearances for placement in a U.S. clinical/school setting. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is also a requirement for licensure within certain academic programs. International students and students who are under DACA status or are undocumented should carefully review the licensure requirements in their state before enrolling in a degree program that leads to licensure. Additional information can be found on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's website.

If you have a 2.88-2.99 cumulative GPA or C's in your math and/or science, you would qualify for the Health Studies program, which follows the nursing curriculum. At the end of the spring semester, if you earn a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, your application for transfer into nursing would be considered. You can only apply for internal transfer one time.

Vaccine Requirement
When applying to the nursing program, please know that students are required to participate in clinicals in order to graduate, and will be required to meet vaccination requirements of their clinical sites. These vaccines may include flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccines, etc. Our clinical sites do not accept religious or personal exemptions from the vaccine requirements. Therefore, students who choose to not be vaccinated in accordance with clinical site requirements may not be able to complete the clinical component of the BSN program requirements, preventing them from graduating with a BSN.
