Alex Reynolds (he/him/his)

Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life

Alex started at GMercyU in June 2022 as the Associate Director for the department. Prior to arriving at GMercyU, Alex was a Residence Life Coordinator at Wilkes University since June of 2018. Alex received his Master’s in Education in College Student Affairs at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2018, and received his B.F.A. in New Media at Salisbury University in 2016.

Alex’s passion in his work lies with being a benefit to anyone he interacts with, whether it be the staff that he works alongside to produce a positive living experience, or with the students he interacts with day-to-day. Alex’s goal is to cultivate an environment where students are supported, mentored, and developed to be successful citizens during and after college. In doing so, Alex recognizes the benefits of residing on-campus, and will work to identify different opportunities for students to receive the best residential experience possible.

Occupying his time outside of work, Alex loves to cook and play video games, namely Apex Legends. Alex also enjoys his time with his family and friends and will dedicate time in traveling to visit them. Alex will never turn down a good Target run to get office supplies, and other things that he does not necessarily need. Alex lives on-campus with his partner, Sean.

Residence Director Camryn Guertse
Camryn Guertse (she/her/hers)
Residence Director - Loyola, Siena, and St. Brigid Halls

Camryn graduated from GMercyU in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. As an undergraduate, she was a Resident Assistant for two years. Camryn describes her four years at GMercyU as an unforgettable experience, challenging her in unexpected ways. She grew immensely, gained lifelong skills, and created incredible bonds with many individuals on campus.

To Camryn, staff team bonding is pure joy when working closely with the Resident Assistants. When they are not discussing campus updates, planning programs, and creating a welcoming and safe community, you can catch them anywhere telling funny stories, making jokes, and enjoying one another's company. Camryn is passionate about student development and experiences, especially regarding inclusion, the sense of belonging, and advocating for the well-being of students. She loves watching students plant their seeds and grow during their time at GMercyU.

Outside the office, she enjoys painting, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her sister and her dog. She loves going on car rides, especially with the windows down in the summer, and listening to her favorite music.

Linda Rainer

Administrative Assistant

Linda joined the Residence Life team in June 2021 from the Souderton Area School District where she worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for grades 6-8. Linda also served as President of the Souderton Area Education Support Professional Association from 2019-2021. While Linda’s favorite movie series may not be “Bring It On,” she did serve as the Assistant Coach for the Indian Valley Middle School Cheerleading Squad from 2017-2021. Linda graduated from North Penn High School and the North Montco Technical Career Center in 1992 where she studied business and cosmetology.

With her main responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the main office and helping to keep things running smoothly, Linda enjoys building connections with students in addition to supporting and assisting them with whatever they may need. Watching students grow as they move throughout their college careers brings Linda joy and gratification.

When Linda is not on campus, she can be found relaxing on her back porch listening to country music and dreaming of planning trips that involve the beach or mountains in Nashville, Texas, or Florida. She loves spending as much time as possible with her family, friends, and her orange tabby cat (Hobbes) but since cats are temperamental, Hobbes doesn’t pay much attention to Linda. Linda has three kids and is proud of her family involvement in the Marines, which her grandfather, father, and husband, who is still currently serving, have all been a part of.
