The online DNP program will enable you to:

You can complete our 39-credit DNP program online in about two to three years of part-time study. The program consists of online asychronous and synchronous courses and includes clinical experience.

After completing the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at GMercyU, you will be able to:

  • Practice as an advance practice nurse at the doctoral level within the context of the Mercy tradition of social justice.

  • Advance the practice of nursing, as a clinical scholar, through dissemination of evidence-based protocols and research to improve population health.

  • Demonstrate organizational leadership through interprofessional collaboration for quality  improvement and systems thinking. 

  • Evaluate critical nursing care delivery models using concepts related to social determinants of health.

  • Evaluate ethical and legal issues within health care systems relating to the use of consumer healthcare information, information technology, and patient care technology.

The DNP is a two-year doctoral program designed for MSN-qualified nurses. You will take 13 courses, which include 400 hours of practicum experience.

Credit Requirement:

To earn your Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, you must complete 39 credits.

Once the student is accepted, no courses may be taken outside of Gwynedd Mercy University.
