Southcoast Health Nursing Scholars Program
Secure employment at Southcoast Health, launch your nursing career, and receive up to $40,000 in student loan repayments.
Through a special partnership, GMercyU Nursing students can apply for Southcoast Health's Nursing Scholars program in exchange for a three-year work commitment after graduation and licensure.
Through this program, you can reduce the cost of your education while securing employment at Southcoast Health's Charlton Memorial Hospital prior to graduation. Southcoast Health, located in southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is one of the region's fastest-growing community hospital systems in the region.
You can leave the program at any time. If you do so before completing your work commitment, you forfeit any further loan repayments made by the health system but are not required to reimburse any payments already made on your behalf.

Who Is Eligible
- Students in one of these GMercyU Nursing programs:
- Be in good academic standing with a competitive GPA
- Be a United States Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with residency under DACA or TPS programs
Selection isn’t guaranteed simply by meeting the criteria.
